Cold Pack Technique

Use this technique for Caterpillars, Centipedes, Leeches, Paralysis Ticks, Scorpions, Ants, Bees or Wasps, most Jellyfish and Tropical Bluebottles.

What is It? – This technique is when you apply a cold pack to the wound.
Why is it Done?– It is done to relieve pain.
How is it Done?
Step 1: Tell the patient to try to remain calm.

Step 2: Apply a cold pack to the wound to relieve pain.

Step 3: Ask the patient if they have had an allergic reaction to a sting before.
If so, use an Epipen.

Step 4: If symptoms are worse than pain or redness, it may mean the patient is suffering an allergic reaction.
If so, seek medical help immediately.
